Ghost Portraits

A major new arts festival is being held in Greenock this weekend. The three-day cultural event brings together artists from across Europe and Scotland to create a spectacle of street theatre, music, performance, dance, video and visual art on the streets of Greenock.

Galoshans is a West Coast tradition of performing at Hallowe’en and many locals say it is the origin of the American ‘Trick or Treat’. The programme features artists from France, Czech Republic, Germany, Slovenia, Austria, England and Scotland working with artists and people of Inverclyde to create a festival that manages to be both international and of the place.
