Fellow spirit...
Waves of mist and fog have rolled across the flat fen landscape, only burning off for a few hours in the middle of the day. After transporting a wardrobe, Pete, Chris and I went to King's Dyke NR, where we found lots of grassland fungi, including at least three species of wax-cap and the largest colony of earth-tongues I've ever seen.
As the sun sank towards the horizon I couldn't resist another walk to the Rowing Lake to watch the mist rising, tinged pink and apricot by the afterglow (see extra). Most of the walkers and joggers seemed fairly oblivious to the beauty around them, but this lady was equally captivated by the ethereal quality of the light and space - a fellow spirit indeed.
