Ground beetle (Coleoptera)

Pleased to find this beetle among my strawberry plants this morning - they will eat slugs and snails and aphids which often find their way to the tub these plants inhabit.  So couldn't wish for a better lodger!  It's like a Summer's day here - bringing out lots of flies and hoverflies who were unfortunately quite camera shy - so the beetle won the blip day show!
