Time Flies
Time flies
sun rise
And shadows fall
let it pass by
love reigns forever
over all
The enigmatic and beautiful words around this handsome sundial which marks the Air India Disaster of 1985. The moment of the diaster - 8.15am 23rd June - is marked on the sculpture. Always a special place to visit and today was warm and sunny, we carried on onto the headland and just sat and whispered for otters but they were all busy.
Some great entries for yesterday's Derelict Challenge, thank you to everyone who took part. There were battered old sheds, peeling paintwork, a blue angel, icy driftwood, a novel use for a post box, empty rooms, occupied rooms, posh decay, forlorn decay, memento mori, train carriages, some squidgy potatoes and delicate seedheads, spooky castles, ramshackle piers, a forgotten horsebox, old trucks, a mausoleum, and a ghostly wheelbarrow. A good haul!
As always, fiendishly difficult to select five for hearts. but here goes:
sk for that mournful, enigmatic little chair
Pixelfoto for the soft colours and reflections of this romantic dilapidation
Desertcamel for the ramshackle yet creative stilted structure
LeggeAnnie for a suitably spooky and atmospheric bit of dereliction
TMLHereAndThere for the place I would like to immediately move into!
All entries can be seen here.
We are now entering week 3, so tag away whenever the urge takes you DS3 or Derelictsunday3.
Spectre: not wildly impressed, I think we'd seen it all before, there are only so many explosion you can take, and where does he get his impressive and extensive wardrobe from? Having said that, I do think he makes an excellent Bond though. The popcorn munchers were out in force though.
And apologies to those who commented on my first blip - same pic but it went off before I was ready!
