No swimming today!

Day 1 in Crete
 
A cloudy blustery day, but it’s warm enough for tee shirts.
 
A solid 8 hour sleep followed by breakfast and a 2 hr walk westward along the beach. Being Sunday and the end of the season it was fairly deserted but we found one shop open. We made the blokes day, I think, by making a purchase, probably the only customers he had all day. I was pleased to have bought a Christmas present, after all it is November next week and you have to start at some point in time.
 
We made pals with this little fellow who followed us within his territorial boundry and these kittens who were less confident in our presence. (In extras)
 
Back to the hotel for lunch, which was very welcome as we had exceeded our 10,000 steps by that time! More than my norm for the day!!
 
Afternoon was spent reading and a bit of a snooze for me, before a 1hour gym session. Then ready for dinner.
 
The weather hasn’t been brilliant, but it was dry and it didn’t stop us doing what we wanted. The food is good and plentiful, so we can work out what and when we want on other days. A real laid back holiday :0)
