Black Drin

Today we went with the boat to St. Naum monastery where also the Black Drin flows into Lake Ohrid.

The Black Drin is a really beautiful super clear water river! We could go on a rowboat on it (not rowing ourselves unfortunately, as that is (very understably!) not allowed). The water is chrystal clear.

Lake Prespa is a few hundred meters higher than Lake Ohrid. The water from Lake prespa goes through the mountains and goes up in this river filtered by the sand. You can see these little bubbles coming through the sand. This of course makes it super clear!

You can even see some of the plants produce oxygen. It almost seems like it's raining when you're watching it, but it aren't rain drops falling but oxygen coming out of the plants to the surface.
