The Elegant Mr. Lapwing

Showers came early today, Day of the Dead, a national catholic holiday. Later it was possible to go for a bike ride. This is our Southern Lapwing, a very common bird here. Not sure if it is a male or female, but does not look like he's wearing for an important social event?
