The Milky Way

This picture shows our galaxy the Milky Way in the centre of the photograph. It looks like cloud or smoke but it's stars light years away.
There are also two satellites visible in the top right hand quadrant.
As this is a long exposure of one minute all the stars move in that time and that's why there is a slight blurring of them. If I had a clockwork mount it would rotate the camera at the same speed as the Earth and keep the image sharp. If the clear nights continue there'll be more asronomy pictures.
