Beamsley Beacon
Today I haven't had much time to use my camera. My eyes were the ones to record the day and experience the magic of the low cloud.
The evening club run was wonderful. We had a special visit from Uganda and I can only say his energy was contagious. A wonderful man that does a wonderful job at the orphanage and the school project in Africa. The Olympic torch that Stephen carried through Bradford was also brought to the the club by our chairman and all the juniors wanted to have their photo taken as well as the adults. I didn't and I also didn't even think to take my phone out and snap some photos, that I could have done but didn't.
Back to the run I went out with the fast group and I was happy although my foot still healing to be able to keep that pace really well, I was actually going effortless up the hills which is my strength, I can leave people behind going up, my 'weakness' is going fast downhill...I would have done it if I wasnt cautious to cause more damage to my foot. Tomorrow I am doing a reccie of the Olympic real relay route project and not sure I will recover in time as the run became a fell run on open moorland and endless bogs so legs worked hard.
I took a few photos of the low cloud from the beacon and a photo when we reached it but non came good as the phone was steamed up because of the moist atmosphere.
So although not my style of photos, i find the history behind the beacon fascinating and when I read history i always try to become one with it and cinematically in my mind try and reproduce that piece of history. I think if you go large you can read it too.
So ... I fell, I went up ...and there was no beam me up to Beamsley beacon, the amazing body that can takes anywhere did all the hard work
Hopefully tomorrow I ll have a better photo
P.S it was great to catch up with a few club friends afterwards and do a little carboloading for the run
