School rush hour. Children being brought, parents heading off. These parents are doing it the right way. A minute behind me, in the cul de sac where the school is, there is a monstrous jam of vehicles squeezing up the road past the parked cars, overtaking 5-year-old cyclists, jockeying for space, dropping children off in the middle of the road, doing three point turns, confronting 5-year-old cyclists, squeezing down the road.
 
Aaargh! It brings my inner authoritarian right to the surface. Get children to walk. It’s good for the parents too.
