Buenos Aires
We met our Irish friends Conor and Lou at the very start of our trip in Mexico, they too travelling a similar route ending in Brazil in Dec. We last saw them in Guatemala and haven't been able to schedule a catch up ever since BUT we were able to unexpectedly run into them at the same hostel in BA.
We spent the day catching up and exchanging travel stories whilst on a walking tour through Recoleta. A beautiful old part of BA, known where all the old money is and the old buildings exactly the same as in France. Very pretty.
That night we enjoyed dinner together while eating the most delicious meat. Argentina is known for its steak and my goodness they do it well - the waiter sliced our steak up using 2 spoons, that's how perfectly cooked it is. Man my mouth is watering now just thinking about it. To give you an idea, at a nice fine dining restaurant the most expensive/largest steak is $40 (the 2 steaks in the picture are the cheapest at $18). Of course we enjoyed a bottle of red wine which this country also does extremely well.
