Bravo
I treated Mr DawnAgain to a night out at the Petworth Literary Festival this evening, specifically to see one of his heroes: Andy McNab. What an amazing life Mr McNab has had! As a baby he was left on the steps of Guy's Hospital in a carrier bag, he was adopted aged five and led a nomadic, feral existence, taking in nine primary schools before ending up in borstal. He then joined the Army, and got into the SAS at the age of 22, undertaking covert operations across five continents over nine years and leaving the Army as its most decorated serving soldier. And if that wasn't enough, he has since embarked on a hugely successful writing career (partly funded by Mr DawnAgain's purchases), selling 32 million books worldwide so far. He also finds time to work for private military intelligence agencies, as an adviser to the film industry, writes national newspaper columns and lectures for literacy charities - a cause close to his heart as he had the reading age of a nine year old when he joined the Army. And he's a very likeable chap to boot.
Obviously I couldn't take a photograph of the man himself or he'd have had to kill me so here's the lectern ;)
