Roman remains at Estoi in the Algarve

A mind bending experience indeed to be seeing
mosaics almost 2000 years old. It was explained
that the fish, whilst looking pot bellied, were so
designed that they would then resume a normal
appearance when the bathing pool was filled
from the adjacent springs - after gentle warming of course. These Romans think of
everything!
