Going Home

Southeastern Minnesota in the rain.

Nothing to do today except drive home and it poured the whole way. We made a soggy stop at Whole Foods in the Twin Cities for steak tips, but the butcher, who was rather defensive ("three generations in the business"), claimed not to know what they were. (For the record, they are sirloin trimmings and we used to eat them all the time in Massachusetts, and yes, we bought them at Whole Foods.) Seeing as we were there, we had lunch at their rather excellent salad bar to help make up for a spending a week eating restaurant food, which for all its deliciousness, tends to be vegetable-lite.

Some lovely colorful fall scenery peered out from beneath the rain-haze which petered out a few miles south of home. Saving for the oak trees, our leaves are down.

Good to be home though.
