As the sun was going down
I had in mind to go to Western Springs Lake with my camera this evening. There was some big event there, with tents and things and people coming from all over. So I went back to the apartment, sans photos. After a restful half an hour or so we started preparing a meal, which included setting up the barbecue on the table on the deck to grill the meat.
While I was doing that, the sun was going down. The camera got some use, and I got a better photo than any I tried for later as the fireworks exploded around Grey Lynn and beyond.
I decided that the great expanse of sky at the top, and the closer houses in shadow, both added nothing. So I converted the photo to a panorama.
