the word 'fern' along with many other 'nature' words have been culled from the Oxford Junior Dictionary words such as acorn, beech, heather, heron, ivy, lark, newt, pasture,willow to name only a few. New words include blog, celebrity, chatroom. Are children no longer to see the seasons, is the beauty and mystery of the rural environment so disposable, we hope not
