The Blue Pool
After two days of gorgeous days and thunder and lightening through the night, the weather finally caught up with us as we arrived in Yamba. The first drops of rain fell as we drove ove the Clarence River and it didn't abait alas. For this roasted Scot though, it was a nice bit of relief! ;-)
Sandy (OzBeachcomber) and Alan were waiting for us and we were treated to a drive around the many, many, many wonderful beaches and headlands surrounding Yamba. We wound our way round to Angourie and its coastal freshwater Blue and Green pools. The were formed at the turn of the last century when diggers cut into a freshwater reserve under the quarry. It was evacuated and the deep pools left behind soon became local attractions for divers and swimmers.
We gabbed the night away and I think by the end Sandy and I covered most of the critical issues of the day. Respective PM's wait expectantly at your letterboxes. ;-) It was lovely catching up with you guys. It felt like it was only yesterday that we last sat on the patio chatting and all too soon this visit passed as well. Thanks so much for putting Gitama and I up and for watering and feeding us. Popcorn with chicken?!! Who'd a thunk it? Heh, seems pretty obvious why it's never been used before though! ;-)
