Ginko Study
I found this group on the pavement on the village square. I had intended collecting the beautiful golden Ginko balboa leaves this fall but got distracted and now they are all gone. But this broken branch of russet leaves is a different way to see them. They do not dry on the trees like that. In fall the leaves turn gold and then all drop at the same time.
This is the first time I have seen one of the many trees with these "fruits" that I thought looked like crabapples. Except they smell rank like true Ginkos. So, I shall keep this "study" outdoors for winter.
Whoever planted the square with these trees over 20 years ago was a real landscaper.
I just looked back in this Journal and I blipped the ginko leaves each first week in November for the past few years. this Blip Journal is becoming more valuable for me.
I think I will record the daily temperature and/or rain and snow if it is significant.
All this week the day time high had been in the 70's. Even 77ºF two days ago. Brilliant sunshine. The true Indian Summer weather is to end tomorrow.
But no snow yet... everyone is thrilled.
