Well, Look Who's Come to Check Me Out

I wandered into the woods in the last hour of the day hoping to see the beaver. And what do you know, I was hanging around, pretending to be interested in other things when Slap! - the alarm call went up. The beaver himself was not to be seen, but beavers are curious animals and I felt sure that if I waited around he would come over and check me out. And he did. I'm not sure if I passed the test or not - he swam off and gave another tail slap, so probably not.

The beavers have revitalized the pond I call Meadow Pond this summer. That is, they have cleared it and made an active waterway in a region that had reverted from pond to swamp. So thank you beavers.
