Acoustic session

The Perthshire Amber festival is an autumn celebration of traditional music from top artists in concert to spontaneous sessions in small local venues. We experienced a great afternoon of music in The Merryburn in Birnam with free tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit laid on by the hostess, to accompany the free music. 
In the photo are two professional musicians from the band Dallahan - Jack on guitar and Jenny on double bass. Dallahan's arrangements of original music and traditional Irish tunes and songs have secured their appearance at prestigious international events worldwide in the short time they have been together. It was fabulous to hear them today in the little town of Birnam (and buy their first full-length album - 'The Day is on the Turn' - listen to the title track on YouTube). Also it was  a joy to listen to amateur musicians who had brought along their instruments and who burst into action during a lull in proceedings.
