Still Going Strong

Our "Hot Lips" salvia blossoms aren't as pretty as they were mid-summer, but they're just as appealing as ever to our resident hummingbirds -- perhaps even more so, given the paucity of other flowers, domesticated or wild.

And this hardy plant, which I've cut back at least twice, is still producing buds, much to my surprise! I'm looking forward to planting several other salvias in our garden next spring.
