A 'Three Monkeys' Whoosh

"... If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!”
JRR Tolkien

In the Western world the Three Monkeys  often refer to people who look the other way, who collude by not speaking out, choosing not to hear or act. People who collude or encourage collusion when it is about promoting coercion, intimidation, control and inflated feelings of superiority, have a dense layer of hypocrisy running through them.

I prefer the Japanese view of the Three Monkeys which is about being of good mind, speech and action. I am very lucky in that I have friends and role models who gather together in this collective.  They listen, see, and speak up for equity and justice and act in ways which are ethically sound; truly kind and caring. They have integrity; meaningful and authentic values and beliefs.
