Red

I went up to the West End briefly, hoping to pick up a white poppy from the Embra Peace and Justice Centre, but found that it was closed, as is Henderson's cafe next door, due to church renovations apparently. Went up into the kirk and bought a few seasonal greetings cards but was transfixed as I was leaving by the meenester asking for a minutes silence for peace. Obviously we all observed it. Then he started addressing an eternal god, so I left. In the office I found that the mail had not been excavated from the mail boxes for several days - but I found the envelope I was after and high-tailed it back to Leith (apart from the no 36 bus seizing up at Broughton Primary and having to decant us onto a relief bus).

In the evening we went round to the Bond for a convivial evening with Arclight and Mr A, with a delicious meal cooked by himself. We attempted to put the world to rights, as ever, but it's an ongoing process...

I took a photo of the pelargonium (sp?) on the windowsill when I was watering the plants. Usually the camera has difficulty with this amount of red, but it was maybe OK due to the low light level.
