Kangaroo Paw - Anigozanthos Big Red

This is a small Kangaroo Paw I am growing in a pot in my courtyard. On reading about these small hybrids I find they do not have a long life expectancy (maybe 2-3 years, even though they are called perennial). It was quite windy today so I resorted to trying and indoor shot using the flash.  The seemingly out-of-focus "paws" are covered in fine hairs. These paws finally burst along the side revealing this lovely green lining and bright yellow stamens. The extra shows it in full flower in the courtyard, but I couldn't get a good angle to eliminate the fence. In spite of the name the flower heads are less than two centimetres across.
