Ultra Distance Man

Today we had the Harrier Club prize Giving and 90th Celebration. Thomas received a number of trophies as did Ophelia and Martina. Thomas was presented with the most improved runner trophy.
We had a lovely diner and a delicious cheese cake dessert. Our Guest speaker was Kevin O'Sullivan a past member and host of many club runs from his former Rectors House in Timaru. Kevin is the Former Rector of Timaru Boys High School who Retired 12 months ago. Kevin was a commentator at Athletic events and his highlight was watching and announcing Carl Lewis setting his first world record live at a track and field meet.
This is Hugh Smith a Retired lawyer and now no longer a runner but a member of the walking group. Hugh was a distance man who ran a couple of Brighton 50's ( 50 mile races) and his best Marathon time was 2:55.33
