Travelling by Bus
I hate leaving places, I've enjoyed visiting, and so it was just as well that today dawned dull and colder than of late with a horrible forecast of heavy rain. Fortunately the hike to the bus stop in Sandend was dry but the the clouds descended and the rain began in Elgin.
Just as Caesar crossed the Rubicon so did LadyFindhorn cross the mighty Findhorn and as she did so the weather improved, such that on the journey south from Inverness the sun actually came out to show off the magnificent splendour of the countryside's autumn colours.
Coming home to a heaving metropolis after the peace of rural Banffshire is never going to be easy, but the presence of taxis at the bus station would have made the homecoming just that bit more bearable. Instead, we found ourselves heaving the luggage all the way to Hanover Street before we encountered a single black cab- a pretty shocking state of affairs for a capital city.
