Sandown

After the stressful/busy working week, I met my friends for lunch in Shanklin today, with Daisy. They were all so happy to see her back to her old healthy self. After lunch, Tony and Donna had to go off as they had things to do, so Sara and I walked Daisy from Shanklin to Sandown and back, along the beach. At this time of year dogs are allowed on the beach, and as the weather was showery not that many people were about. Daisy loved it, running all over the sand, and chasing after seagulls. Halfway through the walk the sun suddenly shone on Sandown.

The walk was about 2.5 miles each way, so quite a long walk but it was so nice, with all the chatting we never noticed the distance. Daisy got excited at one point and tried to jump over a large puddle between the groyns* (I had just jumped over it), but unfortunately Daisy chose to jump the widest part and didn't quite make it and ended up in the middle of the puddle. So she was a soggy doggy.

*Groyns are the wooden fence type things separating the beaches.
