New bird feeder
This blue jay was one of the first customers. A chickadee was the very first critter to visit this new feeder that Linda and I installed today. I took a photo of that first chickadee but it was out of focus. A few blue jays visited and this is the first one that turned out half-way fair. More chickadees came around and a couple of white-breasted nuthatches, too. A few squirrels have had a look but haven't figured out how to settle in for a snack. They'll figure it out.
The feeder itself was bought at the Waterloo Farmers' Market about six weeks ago from the Mennonite gentleman from whom we buy a trunkload of birdseed. I'm not sure if he made it or not but it's quite sturdy.
