Wunderbar

We have had heavy rain all day so it was just as well I had something  indoors planned for this afternoon.  I went to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle with my friend Jan to see Kiss Me Kate .  It was an Opera North production.  The cast were excellent and the costumes were very colourful.  Lots of great songs - including  Wunderbar  ( the German word for Wonderful ).  The musical dates from 1948 and the music and lyrics are by Cole Porter.  We were sitting in Row J but as the  orchestra pit  was so large we were actually in the 3rd row from the front.

The show lasted 3 hours so it was well after 5pm when we came out.  Janice went off to Patisserie Valerie to buy cakes and I went to Waitrose to buy cat food.

Just had a quiet evening in front of the TV with the heating on.

Newcastle United had their first away win of the season this afternoon.  They won 1 - 0 at Bournemouth. Our goalkeeper was Man of The Match apparently.  Will watch it on Match of The Day later on.  Maybe this is the start of good things to come.
