The Circus Is In Town
I had a quickshort drive along the beach front at Carnoustie this evening. Whilst I suppose I may have romanticised the image I have of the beach that I remember from my childhood, to say it had lost its sparkle is an understatement.
The area you are looking at here used to have at least 75 metres of high sand dunes and grass leading down to the beach. In more recent years rising tides and coastal erosion have taken their tole and the beach is a shadow of its formal self. To prevent further damage to the coast and of course the nearby golf courses, tons of boulders have been dumped at the high tide mark.
The circus in the distance appears to be up and running however if the drab and dreary appearance outside is anything to go by then I suspect that the entertainment inside may also lack-lustre. I could be wrong; I hope so.
