Shooting fish....
... in a barrel.
That's what it seems like getting stunning clouds shots recently. Am sure I'm making it sound simpler than maybe it is, but everytime I turn around, there seems to be a cloud shot waiting.
I have done these trees before but this is a different angle and light.
I very nearly opted for this shot but I think it needs just a little more work to lift the grasses at the base of the tree.
I intended walking much further this evening, right up the hill to find a tumble-down farm building. I got just a little way past these trees and Tilly decided that she simply wasn't going any further. I had already walked over the river without letting her into the water. She dug her heels in and said enough is enough, turned around, went back down the hill and into launched into the water. A good splash around caused much amusement for a little girl out for a walk with grandma and grandad.
I was not that amused when she had got out again. The only way is via a very muddy route - a wash down was required when we got home :-(
While I remember - There's a little story about the bushes you can see at the top of the hill. Behind there is a big bowl about 200 feet across and 30 feet deep. I thought for many years that it was the result of a big 1000Ib bomb dropped in WW2 that was aimed for the railway about a mile away. I found out a few weeks ago that it was actually it is a WW2 artefact, but was created by prisoners of war that were used to dig ouy clay. Much of this was used to the build the two local farms, one of which )William's farm) I featured a while ago.
Thank you to everyone who left comments yesterday. I will pass them on to Gill before she finishes at the end of term. I'm sure she will be totally bemused how people all over the UK and as far afield as America and New Zealand can get interested in her 'little' bit of art.
