Winter birds
There were three Dippers on the river and I finally got this shot of one. They were all singing which is unusual at this time of year. This is not as sharp as I wanted but it does show the nictitating membrane or third eyelid that enables the Dippers to hunt under water.
In the stubble, there was a family of Whooper Swans, two adults and five youngsters. The extra shows three youngsters.
The twin roe youngsters are wandering about behind the house, lost because the female has left them to fend for themselves while she is off with the male.
There are big flocks of Pink footed Geese in the fields.
