Martini Summer

The mild and sunny period mid November has a name - at least in the German speaking part of Europe. It is called "Martini Sommer" and describes a warm period mid November, around the St. Martins day. The legend says that it happened the first time when St. Martin died in France (links are further below).

We did a 4 hour hike from home to Pfannenstil, Forch, Limbach, Wetzwil and back to Meilen. Through the forest, accross fields and pastries all high above the lake of Zurich. T-shirt only weather, 20C. 25'000 Fitbit steps. Tired, sun tanned, hungry, thirsty.

Barbecue on the terrace now just before sunset (yes 8 Nov!). Scampi and Pulpo with small potatoes, onions and a crisp white wine (Merlot Bianco) from the Italian part of Switzerland.
