Lest We Forget

Wednesday will be the official day of Remembrance of those killed in WW1 and all other wars since then.  Today is the closest Sunday, we fell silent at 11am.  I remember a time shops stopped selling, a few cars would pull over and people stopped walking.  Looking out of my lounge window today, the few cars on the country lane continued and people walked to the local village shop to buy their milk.

I found myself, first time since I was about 11 colouring in a wreath....it was therapeutic .  I did go up to the local church to see their wreath display, only to be disappointed, not because I wanted to go to Church, but because the doors were closed tight and not a poppy in sight!  I can only assume gates where closed because it was Sunday lunchtime, and clearly God, whoever he may be, closes his doors at lunchtime!!
