With a free morning in London before catching the train back to Glasgow, K and I decided to visit the National Portrait Gallery to see this year's BP Portrait Award, an exhibition I have been interested in for several years, having seen it over the years in Aberdeen and Edinburgh.

This was the first time I've viewed it in London and, as usual, I was amazed at the wonderful talent of the artists. This was my favourite, but you can see them all here and choose your own favourite. I'd be interested to hear your choice.

Now I'm "back to old clothes and porridge", as we say in Scotland, after a super holiday in Denmark with Daughter No 1. I can sum up Denmark in a few words: flat! green! lovely! expensive!
