Sharp out of the blocks could not be applied to Friday after the excitement of Thursday. I didn't see a boy until an hour after I would have expected them.
Still, we got fed, dressed and out and with typical good timing arrived at first bell; Alex loved taking his new scooter to school, all shiny and red. The scooter. Although he was a bit puffed out but didn't shine but may have been ruddy.
And so I returned home to fix a shelf, wade through the mountain of laundry, wash up, blah blah blah

I left the house at 3; supermarket for essential provisions and then picked her up from work (armed to the teeth with hair straighteners, a dress and full wet weather walking kit) and we came back to mine and I cooked chicken with roasted butternut squash in cardamom, all spice, lime, chilli and a tahini / yoghurt splash. Worked well. Dessert may or may not have involved strawberries and meringues and choc cake.

A couple of days of peace to enjoy....
