"You go on ahead, I'll catch you up," she'd said. And that was the last time anyone from the hen party saw her. 

Today was Matt's first day of a week's work experience. He's got a placement at the chemistry department of Edinburgh University. 

As we stood on the wind-blasted railway station waiting for the train, he looked around at his fellow commuters. "Everyone looks so sad," he said.
