No. 181: Knot

Despite having been to Norfolk many times now, today was our first visit to RSPB Snettisham - probably because we pass close by on our way here so it feels like going back homewards. Conditions weren't ideal, as it was very dull and very windy again, and colder than yesterday. There are no high tides during daylight hours at the moment, so no opportunities to see the spectacular displays that the Knots put on, but even under the poor conditions we saw astonishing numbers of birds of all kinds. Even when we couldn't make out what some of the birds were because of the distances and poor visibility, and the difficulty of holding binoculars and camera steady in the strong wind, we still marvelled at the sheer numbers. And a numbered bird blip was a real bonus.
