Christmas Cactus or Thanksgiving Cactus.

This has nice memories for me. Last year I had gone to collect an undelivered Christmas gift from the parcel depot. I had a bad knee and after catching two buses and walking quite a distance, I found the depot had recently moved to the other side of town. As I walked back to the bus stop, another lady also was going to look for the new depot. My knee was aching badly and it was windy, cold and wet and I was not looking forward to another long journey. Then the young stranger said, "You look so  cold and fed up, Happy Christmas," she then took this cactus from her basket and handed it to me, saying, "I hope this will cheer you up a bit."  We then travelled together to pick up our parcels. I thought of her kindness when I noticed it was flowering for the first time.
