The height of the flood waters on the old gateway to the public park created by Joseph Rowntree - Kit-Kat and all that.

His company created the park in memory of the fallen in the Great War 1914-18 for the enjoyment of all York citizens thereafter.

But... Here's the back-story. He really developed the park, here on the banks of the River Ouse to stop his arch-rival (and fellow Quaker) Joseph Terry, from expanding his factory towards town...
