Oranges are not the only fruit

There was a basket full of persimmon for sale in the supermarket when I was in there this evening.
I have no idea what a persimmon tastes like as I'm pretty sure I've never eaten one. I certainly wouldnt know what to do with one if it was presented to me.
All I do know is they cost about twice as much as Granny Smith apples.
