Autumn on Glenbrook Road
Sunday ride was nearly 100km. A dull blustery day made riding out a wee bit tough, but on the road to West Linton I caught up with another cyclist. We worked together until I turned off to head to Biggar. I've never been to Biggar before. Once I turned off, the wind was at my side. I stop in Biggar to take a bite to eat and have a quick look around the town centre. Next I take a B road for Carnwath. The clouds have lifted a little, and it doesn't look so dull.
From Carnwath, I head up the west side of the Pentlands along the A70. Its a nice quiet road that climbs up over 300m ASL at Achinoon. You get nice views of Harperrig Reservoir and the Pentland Views, which I have blipped before. That is followed by a lovely descent back in to Edinburgh. I turn off on to Glenbrook Road. The trees along here have a lovely autumn colour, which won't be around for much longer.
Not far from home, its back on to the A70 for a wee bit and then home. A smidgen under 98km. Coffee and cake awaits.
