Above the clouds, the sky is always blue
After a frustrating start to the day- the reason I work with teenagers became clear. They are bright, honest and hilarious creations. It's their innocent honesty I admire and appreciate the most, it doesn't always come so easily to adults.
A trip into the town to photograph the Remembrance wreaths prompted some mature and thoughtful discussions about the current conflict that seems to be engulfing the world. Teenagers do care.
They conducted themselves maturely when the local sweet shop owner allowed us to use his sweets as subject matter for another area of work in our topic. One student made me chuckle when he inquired, "Excuse me sir, which sweets would you recommend?".
My second group further impressed me with their wisdom and analytical abilities. I wish I could see things through the eyes and think with the brain of a teenager again, they notice the most unexpected things, making fascinating connections between concepts.
Spent the evening building lil' sis' BMX ready for Christmas! Feels a little early!
