Preparation...

....for my sister's imminent arrival! Claire lent me her copy of Secret Beaches, a lot of them you have quite a walk or climb down to...hence their secret nature! Our friend wrote this book, he's also just about to publish (as in, this week!) Secret Walks and soon after, Secret Kitchen. He did a similar book for Dorset as well...Rob Smith - a lovely guy!

A day that included a ridiculously hard Spanish class - felt like i was banging my head against a Spanish brick wall...am waiting for the linguistic 'click' when suddenly all these grammatical bits and pieces just make sense! Will that day ever come?!

Then later we had our language exchange/caña club! Good to catch up with people, and watch Asha and Rudy enjoying being together.

First night with the duvet on - winter is here! At night-time anyway, days are still very warm.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) My long-suffering & encouraging Spanish teacher, Hugo. He had his work cut out today.
2) Watching Asha shout adios to each friend as she left school, & seeing the parents & kids reactions...I think she's a little community-maker in the making!
3) Having people to see...& watching friendships form out of the language exchange....this is a very lonely island, and it gives me great joy to watch people connecting with others, especially out of something we've started.
