Armistice Day
M and I attended the short service at the war memorial in the town square in Leighton Buzzard this morning, during which the 'Last Post' was played by a member of the Salvation Army whilst the bells of All Saints church chimed 11 O Clock, local school children laid poppy wreaths. A very moving experience. I'm so glad we went.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
For the Fallen by Robert Laurence Binyon (1869-1943),
