Coloured houses in a row

We are in Cape Town for a few days where M is attending a conference. I have not spent a night here since 1988 when my mother died (she lived here). The city has changed a lot, but there are still some familiar things. We are staying in a part which is known for its brightly coloured houses and narrow streets, it is only 15 minutes' walk from the poplular Waterfront and the convention centre where the conference is held.
