Skywalkers
I have to say that this is the closest I've come yet to breaking my uninterrupted Blip run. It's been a mixed week, busy to begin with, then lazy. Somehow, due mainly to the deeply ingrained habit of always having a camera at hand, I managed to grab at least pne blip each day, but they aren't anything to write home about, and I was seriously considering not posting for some of the days I've been out of touch. But now the week is over, I've back-blipped the missing days, things are still uninterrupted, and hopefully I'll bounce back again after this little hiccup.
A gang from the music group somehow got their acts together and decided to all go to the National Concert Hall tonight for a Slav concert as part fo the current Symphony Orchestra season. As well as going to the concert, we agreed to meet beforehand and have a bite to eat in the restaurant in the concert hall. The table was booked for 6.30, with the concert at 8.00, but I was in town ridiculously early. One reason was that I wanted to search for a book ro two which have come to the surface during the week. I tracked down one of them, but still had a good deal of time to kill.
Along the way, I passed the Brown thomas corner and caught a glimpse of the elevated walkway which links the store to the car park on Clarendon Street. I've always been attracted to this as a possible photo subject, so pointed the camera at it so as to be sure of having something at least to upload for today.
Car rescued, I hung around the general area of the concert hall until the others began to assemble. The restaurant was okay but not great (service slow, food cold). The concert was mixed too, with a local soloist in the Dvorak violin concerto who really wasn;t up to the task. The highlight was Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony, played with great passion under the able direction of a fine visiting conductor.
==========
So, here I am, up to date with Blip again. It's been a bit of a struggle, but I'm managed to plug the unsightly gap by back-blipping a nice meat pie, some sea birds, some fallen leaves, a new architectural arrival, an evening skyline, and a bit of corrugated graffiti.
It's now Saturday morning. The music group session beckons, as does another visit to the sick and hopefully an enjoyable and relaxing weekend -- which is what I wish to all blippers everywhere.
