St. Martin's Day

When I came home people were gathering at the church for the St. Martin's Day procession. I heard St. Martin's horse, but never saw him or his horse. But many children with lanterns. What fun for them (and of course for the adults, too)!
After the procession across the town a Martinsbrezel for the children and Glühwein for the adults next to the bonfire, as every year.


There are Martinsumzüge everywhere here - a tradition I really like. What I don't like is calling them "lantern festivals" or anything alike and celebrating them on any other day than today.
