Wednesday: Karmine

K. and I were at a 'karmine'  today.  I suppose we would translate that as a wake. It was for Danko's mum, who died at the weekend.  We only heard about the funeral quite late yesterday which meant that, unfortunately, I couldn't rearrange my day in sufficient time to attend the funeral itself.  K. went, though, and I left work around 2.30pm and joined them in a restaurant.  

Despite the circumstances, there was a relatively jolly mood.  Danko is the type of person who is able to use humour to cope.
