Shady corner

Under a fairly young oak tree (as oak trees go) these ferns are thriving in the shade. They grow in soil constantly covered in leaves, not just in the autumn!
I am hoping to extend the "fernery" around the roots of the oak tree for next year.
But today it was time to rake up the thousands of leaves which have come from the same oak tree! Great exercise and fresh air on a rather dull and damp afternoon! 
This morning we collected some new car seats for my grandchildren who are coming down on the train soon. I have to say that I was impressed by the service at Halfords - the store manager came out and fitted the seats in the car for no extra charge!
